Before you turn up
Ring ahead and check they've actually got space. If you're parking up for the night, spend properly — think £50+ a day, not a soft drink and a corner of the car park. Don't take the piss, especially not on a Doc recommendation.

Two minutes off the M25. Tucked away down Blackhorse Lane, so it doesn't feel like a services stop at all.
Free parking, proper pub food, and the kind of welcome that's rare on the motorway network. There's a friendly Labrador who's clearly a regular, and a lovely little neighbour's kid who kept Doc laughing.
